Requires
Android 9 or newer and about 1 GB free for the models. An ordinary mid-range phone is enough; a faster chip mostly buys a faster reply. An app lock is available: fingerprint, face, or your screen lock.
Yours to take
Export a plain zip whenever you like: Markdown to read, JSON to import elsewhere, against a published format specification. It carries every entry with its date, mood and cue.

Is it really offline?
Your journal is. Once the models have downloaded, chat, moods, echoes and patterns run on the phone with no network at all. Dictation uses your phone's own speech recognizer, on-device where your phone supports it. The app itself does still send content-free usage analytics and crash reports through Google Firebase, and we would rather name them than have you find them. The privacy policy lists every one, and analytics switches off in Settings → Privacy.
Is the AI any good on a phone?
A small model is a fine trade for what Tinta does: naming a feeling, finding the entry that rhymes with this one, asking a better question. With no network round trip it often feels quicker than a large one would. The two are Liquid's LFM 2.5 and Google's EmbeddingGemma, pinned to fixed versions with published checksums.
What if I lose my phone?
The journal goes with it. That is the honest cost of having no server: there is no cloud copy to restore from, because there is no cloud. Uninstalling does the same. Export a zip whenever you want a backup and keep it wherever you trust. It holds every entry, though chat history and voice recordings stay behind.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Tinta is Android first, and we would rather say so plainly than collect your email for a version that does not exist.
